A "hybrid" bridge (implant supported bridge) is a single unit restoration with teeth and tissue colored porcelain or acrylic fused to a gold, zirconia, or titanium inner framework. The hybrid is supported by four or more implants, and it remains in the patients mouth permanently. The most common use of a dental hybrid is to replace dentures. Acrylic/titanium hybrids have a 15-20 year lifespan and porcelain hybrids have an even longer lifespan. Dr. Hodges and his surgical partners can restore your mouth to a healthy and functional state in just a handful of visits.
Phil always had crooked teeth. His upper teeth were periodontally unsound (gums and bone were failing). He was missing several lower teeth and he had an acrylic temporary bridge for lower front teeth. Phil's upper teeth were extracted by Dr. Jeff Rogers, who also placed six upper implants and five lower implants. The upper implants are restored with an acrylic/titanium hybrid bridge. His lower arch was restored with two implants supporting a 4-unit bridge in the front, three individual implants restored with single crownsand two crowns placed on his lower canines (eye teeth). |
